Bird Watching Holidays in the Mid Wales countryside. Step out of your cottage at Nannerth Country Holidays and you will see many bird species within a short distance. Farmland birds, summer visitors such as redstarts, river lovers such as dippers, woodland birds including pied flycatchers and raptors patrolling the skies above the farm from their nest sites. Feeders close to the holiday cottages attract the siskins, goldfinches and other small garden birds.
Nannerth Country Holidays has 200 acres of diverse habitat, valuable for attracting many bird species and it includes a small private nature reserve. Our sheep flocks graze the meadows and pastures and as you walk through the ancient woodlands, along the river Wye, through the wetlands and up onto the hills, we hope you will see many of the fifty plus species recorded on the farm. Our farm land adjoins the Elan Valley, well known for its open moorland areas and remote farms. Dedicated bird watchers return to Nannerth on a regular basis and leave interesting records of what they have seen. There are also locally run birdwatching walks in the area, led by experts .
